We are pleased to offer this exceptional UK RHD manual, matching numbers E-Type Roadster onto the market. JAG 116L was manufactured on the 20th August 1973 and distributed by Martin Walter Ltd in Margate, Kent who supplied the E-Type to J.G.C Benge in Sandwich, Kent.
This top class example records a mileage of 45,470 and from the comprehensive history we know the Jaguar had a recorded mileage of 21533 when it was 18 years old. In 1991, the E-Type was subject of a major, full restoration carried out by Charles Fairmourn UK Ltd which cost a staggering £67,500. From 1991 to 2000, 3000 dry miles were covered and in 1999 the Jaguar was entered into an Autoglym Concours de Elegance where it won first place in the Scottish Championship.

Since rebuild the E-Type has covered a total of 24,000 miles and between 2000 and 2017 the car had a further £27500 spent ensuring it was kept in outstanding condition. In 2001 a new mohair hood was fitted, in 2004 a full exhaust system and in 2006 an expansion tank and distributor supplied and fitted. In 2008 new Koni Shocks were fitted and in 2011 the E-Type was subject of a full re-paint and new windscreen 20 years after its initial restoration. Four years later the interior was fully re-trimmed by Aldridge Trimmers and in 2016 new ball joints, manifold gaskets, water housing gasket, high torque starter motor, coolant hoses, exhaust mounts and gearbox mountings were fitted to the car.

In 2017 the Jaguar came to us for the first time from owners in Scarborough. It was driven over to us and then put through pre-sale preparation at Malton Coachworks to offer the car onto the market in top class, show condition. The E-Type had work to include a new heater valve, re-conditioned steering rack, cam cover gaskets, clutch slave cylinder, rear brake discs, rear flexi hoses, rear pads, handbrake pads, rear radius arms, rebuilt differential, alternator belts, lock barrels and five new tyres. In July 2017 we sold the E-Type to a West Sussex based collector who has enjoyed owning the car for three years and prior to its arrival with us the car was treated to a full service and arrives with us in exceptional condition, just as it left us three years ago.

We can confirm JAG 116L has an outstanding, straight bodyshell with excellent panel gaps, a stunning, gleaming paint finish, first class interior and superb chrome work, chrome wire wheels and white banded tyres. The underside is beautifully presented and detailed, and on the road this E-Type is outstanding. The V12 engine holds excellent oil pressure and offers phenomenal power and acceleration. The 5.3 V12 is incredibly smooth and the four speed gearbox is delightful to use both up and down the gearbox. Steering, brakes, electrics are all in excellent order and having had £27500 spent since its initial ‘older' restoration, this is a car that looks and drives like it was restored just a year or two back. This is a first class UK supplied example and its next owner can have huge confidence to use and drive this stunning car on a regular basis. Magnificent in every respect, and it will not disappoint.
