Described by Enzo Ferrari as ‘the most beautiful car ever made’ (and he should know!) and by the Daily Telegraph as one the world’s ‘100 most beautiful cars’ ever made, superlatives have been exhausted on these models. They rightly remain one of the most desirable cars of all time and, as with all coveted things, they begin to attract attention and value.
Most highly valued of all is the early Series 1 examples, like the one listed here. This vehicle was part of a Sussex collection for over 17 years and the whole was auctioned at Bonhams by his family after he sadly passed. Whilst strong and stable in all areas, to make the best of this iconic vehicle it was decided to carry a full but sympathetic restoration gently coaxing this wonderful motor vehicle back to its wondrous former glory.
A full strip down, inspection and overhaul of the superb 3.8 litre engine and running car was undertaken by an independent Jaguar specialist along with a full renewal of the interior. The coachwork was stripped for inspection and previous small remedial repairs were dealt with along with areas of know concern on this marque, such as sills, for complete peace of mind.
This vehicle is superb in every regard and represents a glorious investment proposition that can be driven and enjoyed while you watch the value rise. You can’t drive to the pub on fine art or gold bullion that’s for sure!
